Commuter Updates
Commuter Update - August 1-8, 2011
Now that National Grid is nearing the conclusion of its construction project along Oak Street in Bay Shore, the project team is beginning to restore streets, sidewalks, curbs and the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) parking area. Weather permitting, restoration work will begin on Monday, Aug. 1 and is expected to be completed by Monday, Aug. 8.
The restoration work along Oak Street includes the intersections at Center Avenue and West Drive. While this work is being completed, the LIRR parking lot will not be accessible along these areas. The LIRR parking lot West of Park Avenue will also be closed for repaving during this period. As a result, approximately 100 parking spaces will not be accessible during this time. National Grid is encouraging commuters who typically use this parking lot to make alternate parking or commuting arrangements while this work is completed.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding while the project team completes this important project.
